Cracked pepper consists of large pieces of cracked black peppercorns. Peppercorns are actually tiny fruits from a flowering vine which grows in tropical regions, native to India and Southeast Asia.

So, what’s the difference is between cracked and ground black pepper? Well, although derived from the same peppercorns, the cracked variety are much larger pieces and provide a satisfying crunchy burst of flavour with each bite. Cracked black pepper also has a stronger flavour and more texture than ground black pepper.
